>> Money In The Bank 2012 Matches : Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a WWE Championship Contract

The ladders for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a WWE Championship Contract will have to be reinforced for this epic encounter.

While serving as Interim General Manager, Vickie Guerrero announced that no one can simply “throw their hat in the ring” for a chance to take part in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a WWE Championship Contract – a follow-up to Big Show's declaration that he would do just that. However, because he’s a former WWE Champion, The World’s Largest Athlete will indeed get a chance to compete for a contract for a future WWE Title Match alongside several other former WWE Champions July 15.

Under the guidance of the WWE Board of Directors, Guerrero announced that this year’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a WWE Championship Contract will feature a unique and exciting concept: It will consist of only former WWE Champions. This year’s participants are Big Show, Kane, Chris Jericho and John Cena.

The Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a WWE Championship Contract is one of WWE’s most exciting – and most meaningful – matches of the year. A dangerous concept birthed in 2005, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a WWE Championship Contract pits competitors against each other in a free-for-all format. Surrounding the ring is an assortment of ladders, which one fortunate Superstar uses to reach the prize that dangles from the rafters: a contract that guarantees its possessor a title opportunity at the time and place of his choosing. To hold the contract, which expires after one year, is to sit in the catbird seat. So far, every Superstar who cashed in his contract has come away from his challenge as a new champion.

The Ladder Match is an uncommon type of battle for Big Show and Cena. How will these two fare against Superstars who are more seasoned at climbing the rungs, like Jericho and Kane? Stay tuned to Raw SuperShow and SmackDown as Money in the Bank approaches July 15. (HOW TO WATCH)

Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Championship Contract

World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus already knew the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Championship Contract would mean he’d have a new No. 1 contender. Now, after the final qualifying match on Monday night's Raw SuperShow, The Great White knows all eight interesting possibilities for whom that contender could be.

Following a series of qualifying matches that took place over the past few weeks, the competitors in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Championship Contract have been decided, and the field is an exciting one featuring a diverse mix of styles.

“The Intellectual Savior to the Unwashed Masses,” Damien Sandow, was the first to punch his ticket back on the June 29 edition of SmackDown. Staving off the “ignorance, mediocrity and stupidity” of fan-favorite Zack Ryder, Sandow continued his unbeaten ways, winning the most important match of his young WWE career. Will “The Enlightened One” emerge victorious in the grueling Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Championship Contract or is the loquacious Superstar biting off more than he can chew?

In SmackDown’s second qualifying match on June 29, Tyson Kidd picked up an upset win over a Superstar who not only previously won a Money in the Bank Ladder Match, but also successfully cashed in the contract, Jack Swagger. Pinning “The All-American American” after a back-and-forth contest, the always exciting Kidd booked himself a spot in a match where truly anything can happen.

Intercontinental Champion Christian and United States Champion Santino Marella sealed their spots in the match with a tag team victory over Cody Rhodes and David Otunga on June 29. The recently re-inspired Christian borrowed from his best friend, WWE Hall of Famer Edge, when he used a Spear to dispatch Otunga. Could either Captain Charisma or the master of The Cobra become the first dual-title holder since Ultimate Warrior?

The fearsome Tensai withstood the high-flying attacks of a game Justin Gabriel to make himself the fifth entrant in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Championship Contract. Massive, powerful and relentless, the Japanese import figures to play a major role in this contest, as he looks to gain a guaranteed shot at Sheamus’ title.

On the special SuperSmackDown LIVE on July 3, Rhodes re-entered the Money in the Bank picture after Interim General Manager Theodore Long agreed to let him fight for a spot in the match. (Rhodes had previously lodged a formal protest on the grounds that he was not pinned in his first qualifying match, the aforementioned tag bout.) To secure his place, Rhodes had to defeat Intercontinental Champion Christian, which he did in a hard-fought battle. Will Rhodes be able to squeeze past Christian – and six other Superstars – on July 15?

Adding to the intrigue of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Championship Contract is Dolph Ziggler, who upended Alex Riley in a qualifying match on the July 3 show. Though The Showoff has had a tough go of trying to end Sheamus’ title reign in recent weeks, have back-to-back losses to The Celtic Warrior only served to further motivate the unquestionably driven Ziggler?

The eighth and final contestant is bound to add a whole different, daring element to the fast and furious action. Sin Cara won the last qualifying match on the July 9 edition of Raw SuperShow, capturing a spot in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match for the second year in a row. It was at Money in the Bank 2011 that The International Sensation took a brutal powerbomb through a ladder at the hands of Sheamus, knocking him out of the bout completely. Can Sin Cara beat the odds and move on to face the very Superstar who viciously injured him?

With eight qualifiers in total, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Championship Contract is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling encounters of the year.

For the uninitiated, the savage Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Championship Contract pits competitors against each other in a free-for-all format. Surrounding the ring is an assortment of ladders Superstars use to reach the prize that dangles 15 feet in the air: a contract that guarantees a title opportunity at the time and place of the winning Superstar’s choosing. So far, everyone who cashed in his contract has come away from his challenge as a new champion.

At Money in the Bank, one Superstar will emerge victorious from the chaos that is the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Championship Contract with a golden opportunity at Sheamus’ World Heavyweight Title. >> Money In The Bank Matches : WWE Champion CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan

CM Punk will put his WWE Championship on the line at Money in the Bank in what’s sure to be another thrilling technical match against Daniel Bryan.

Vickie Guerrero, the interim General Manager of Raw and SmackDown, announced the WWE Championship Match on Twitter during the June 25 Raw SuperShow on her account @ExcuseMeWWE. She tweeted:

I’ve just confirmed with the WWE Board that at #MoneyInTheBank, @CMPunk will defend the WWE Championship against @WWEDanielBryan.

These two rivals clashed in May at WWE Over the Limit in a match that won’t soon be forgotten. Showcasing their bitter rivalry and proficient technical abilities, this intensely physical bout ended in controversy, as Punk pinned Bryan while nearly simultaneously tapping out. The Straight Edge Savior won the battle and retained his title.

More recently at No Way Out, Punk’s WWE Title was on the line again in a Triple Threat Match against Bryan and Kane. Thanks to interference by AJ, Punk hit the Go to Sleep on The Big Red Monster, allowing The Second City Saint to retain the WWE Championship.

The ever-increasingly unstable AJ has continued to make her presence known around Punk, Bryan and Kane, whether she’s giving good luck kisses or wearing miniature versions of her latest flame’s gear. To complicate things further, the WWE Universe has elected her the special guest referee for the championship clash at Money in the Bank – via a WWE.com poll. Now, Punk and Bryan are left to wonder how the enigmatic Diva will play her part in their latest bout.

Will Punk continue his lengthy title reign when he faces his longtime rival, Bryan, at Money in the Bank? Can AJ remain impartial as the special guest referee? Could her feelings for either Superstar make the difference in the battle for the WWE Championship? Tune in to Money in the Bank July 15, live on pay-per-view at 8 ET/5 PT. (HOW TO WATCH)

Money In The Bank 2012 » Matches » Sheamus vs Alberto Del Rio (World Championship)

At Money in the Bank, Alberto Del Rio will look to demonstrate an aristocratic lesson in destiny, when he finally gets his one-on-one title opportunity against World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. However, considering the explosive nature of The Great White in recent months, perhaps the lesson he should teach himself is “be careful what you wish for.”

Since capturing his illustrious prize in 18 seconds at WrestleMania, the first-ever Irish-born World Champion has ripped through the competition. Pay-per-view after pay-per-view, SmackDown after SmackDown, Raw SuperShow after Raw SuperShow, The Celtic Warrior has dominated in the win-loss column.

Armed with a ferocious love for fighting and a brutal arsenal – highlighted by the devastating Brogue Kick, White Noise and Celtic Cross – the hard-hitting titleholder has made it clear that he will not easily be knocked off the mountain.

On the same timeline, in the four months since returning to WWE from injury, Del Rio’s bid to capture the World Heavyweight Championship has been littered with a series of almosts and could-have-beens – thanks to a string of unfortunate events and injuries.

It all started when The Mexican Aristocrat won a non-title match against Sheamus that made him the No. 1 contender and earned him a one-on-one bout against The Great White with the title on the line.

With the contest already signed for WWE Over the Limit, now-former General Manager of Raw and SmackDown, John Laurinaitis, decided to morph his opportunity into a Fatal 4-Way World Title Match –to put Sheamus at a greater disadvantage. When the dust cleared on that whirlwind showdown, which also included Chris Jericho and Randy Orton, The Great White was victorious – though not by pinning Del Rio.

Then, heading into No Way Out in June, the affluent Del Rio secured a second World Title opportunity against The Celtic Warrior, only to be sidelined with a concussion.

After a No. 1 Contender’s Contract-on-a-Pole Match against the treacherous Dolph Ziggler spun out-of-control, a Triple Threat Title World Title Match between Del Rio, The Showoff and Sheamus on the June 29 edition of SmackDown ended with another win for Sheamus – but again not with his pinning of the Mexican Superstar.

The following Raw SuperShow, after discussing the matter with the WWE Board of Directors, Interim General Manager Theodore Long informed the resentful Superstar of his one-on-one, pay-per-view World Title Match.

But just because Del Rio has his much-deserved chance at the championship gold, that doesn’t guarantee he’ll capture it. As dangerous as The Mexican Aristocrat may be with his ruthless in-ring style and patented Cross Armbreaker, one wrong move against the self-acknowledged “hooligan” could leave him with one “classless” defeat.

Who will triumph when World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus takes on Alberto Del Rio one-on-one? Find out at Money in the Bank, Sunday July 15 at 8 ET/5 PT, only on pay-per-view.

Money In The Bank 2012 » Matches » Kingston & Truth vs Hunico & Camacho (Pre-Show Tag Team Match)

In a tag team division brimming with competition but wracked by parity, rare is the opportunity for a team to distance itself from the rest of the pack as standout challengers to the throne. Yet on the Money in the Bank 2012 Pre-Show event Sunday, the down-and-dirty duo of Hunico & Camacho will have that very opportunity when they step in the ring against the kings themselves: WWE Tag Team Champions R-Truth & Kofi Kingston.
Champions since the end of April, the team of Truth and Kingston was temporarily derailed last month after a heinous backstage attack by Big Show put Truth on the shelf for several weeks. With the unpredictable Truth back in action, however, he and The Dreadlocked Dynamo are aiming to extend a win streak that includes victories over the now-disbanded unit of former World Champions Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger, former Tag Team Champions Epico & Primo and The Prime Time Players before Titus O’Neil & Darren Young signed with A.W.
The only thing standing in Kingston & Truth’s way is the barrio-tough tandem of the high-flying luchador, Hunico, and the imposing wall of silence that invariably backs him up, Camacho. Though the duo has not yet worn championship gold, their performance against Truth & Kingston Sunday will go a long way in determining their placement in the tag team pecking order.
Will the devil-may-care attitude of Kingston negate the high-flying antics of the former "Sin Cara Negro"? Which brawler will get the upper hand in the fisticuffs that will inevitably ensue – Truth or Camacho?
Find out Sunday by tuning in to the Money in the Bank Pre-Show, which streams live on WWE.com, YouTube.com/WWE and Facebook Sunday, starting at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT.

BREAKING NEWS: Zack Ryder, Dolph Ziggler and Justin Roberts involved in a car accident in San Diego

SAN DIEGO – WWE Superstars Zack Ryder, Dolph Ziggler and announcer Justin Roberts were involved in a car accident just outside of downtown San Diego on Friday afternoon just after 5:00 p.m. PT. Traveling in a limousine, the three were rear-ended as they were transported from Comic-Con: International at the San Diego Convention Center.

"It was a quiet ride since Dolph and I don’t get along. Then, all of a sudden, the brakes hit and I slid down the couch part of the limo. The driver stopped and the car behind us hit us," Zack Ryder said.

"I landed on the floor and my neck hit the edge of the chair," Ryder added. "Ziggler went flying. Justin went flying. The car hit us full speed; we all got thrown from our seats. My neck is a little sore. That’s it. We’re all OK though."

Local paramedics examined the former United States Champion and his fellow passengers, finding no major injuries, according to Ryder.

"It was a big limo, so we couldn’t tell exactly what was going on outside, but we merged on to a highway and then at one point we braked," Justin Roberts told WWE.com. "Zack basically slid down the bench. Dolph and I were sitting in the back facing forward, and Zack was on the bench sitting sideways. Then, out of nowhere, we got hit pretty hard."

Roberts continued, "You could tell by the way Zack was sitting, that his neck [was hurt], and Dolph was sitting right in front of where the impact was, so he got hit hard.

"I don’t remember what happened with myself," Roberts said. "I just know I was sitting on the floor with my knee up, and I was fine. Then I saw that my leg was bleeding, and it hurt. I don’t know what I hit my knee on."

Roberts explained that his cut was minor and he will have it reevaluated when he sees WWE physicians at the WWE Live Event in Tucson, Ariz., this weekend.

"I don’t think anyone was hurt in an emergency way," he said. "It doesn’t feel good, but we didn’t want to sit around in a hospital in San Diego."

According to Roberts, all three declined going to the hospital; he and Ryder are now traveling by car to Phoenix and Ziggler departed on a flight out of San Diego. Stay with WWE.com as more details become available.

At the end of an incredibly hard-fought match, it was Sheamus blasting Chris Jericho with the Brogue Kick en route to picking up a huge win.
