Sheamus starts the show by saying he wants to acknowledge HHH, and he says HHH was his first Wrestlemania opponent, but it was his first Wrestlemania loss too. He says HHH is a legend and he is a great guy, which is the complete opposite of what Alberto Del Rio is. Damien Sandow comes out and says he is there to help Sheamus, and Sandow says Sheamus is as ignorant as he is large in stature. Sandow says HHH and DX assaulted him on RAW 1000, and Sheamus says it was great but Sandow calls his response 'typical.' He says Sheamus calls himself a proud Irishman, but he brings shame and promotes a negative stereotype.

Sheamus says they could listen to him talk, but they have lives so he should shut up, or he can get in the ring and say it to his face. Sandow says he would love nothing more than to beat him up, but he says Sheamus is unworthy of his time and he actually saved him. Sandow says he will take his leave and says your welcome, but Booker T comes out and says he actually agrees with Sandow and the point he made. Booker says no one wants to see an intellectual thrashing, but they want to see a physical fight, so they will have a match tonight and he asks if the crowd digs that.

Winner - Rey Mysterio

Kaitlyn vs Natalya

Natalya sends Kaitlyn into the ropes and kicks her in the stomach, then she takes her down with a side headlock but Kaitlyn counters with a headscissors. Vickie Guerrero walks in and says all of AJ's friends have ignored her, and she was assualted on Monday because of a deranged child. Vickie says she spoke to the board and they have assured her that they will take action, then she says if they don't, she will.

They show a clip of last week's main event, then Alberto says he will become the next World Heavyweight Champion but Mathews asks how he will beat Sheamus. Alberto calls him a weasel and says if Mathews thought Kane beat him up at Summerslam, it's nothing compared to what he will do now. Kane rushes out and everyone clears the ring, then Kane says he wanted to apologize to Mathews as part of his anger management program. Teddy Long comes out and tells Alberto that he should stop where he is, because Kane's anger managemnt is going well and they will have a match together right now.

A Shoe-In for Gold?

Five nights after SummerSlam, the 679th edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown came to you from the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, CA. After the World Heavyweight Title match ended in controversy at SummerSlam with Sheamus pinning Alberto Del Rio, despite Del Rio’s foot being on the bottom rope, SmackDown General Manager Booker T would address the World Heavyweight Title controversy on SmackDown.

Match Results

  • Ryback def. Jinder Mahal by pin following Shell Shocked.
  • Non-Title: Layla def. Alicia Fox by pin following a kick to the head.
  • Heath Slater (with Cody Rhodes) def. Sin Cara by pin following the Bandstand.
  • Non-Title: Sheamus def. Dolph Ziggler (with Vickie Guerrero) by DQ after Dolph Ziggler uses the Money-in-the-Bank briefcase.
  • Non-Title: R-Truth & Kofi Kingston def. Primo & Epico by R-Truth pinning Primo following the Little Jimmy.
  • #1 Contender’s Match: Alberto Del Rio def. Randy Orton by submission to the cross armbreaker to become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title.

Detailed Results

With the world still wondering about the status of the World Heavyweight Championship, SmackDown kicks off with a former World Heavyweight Champion in “The Viper” Randy Orton. Orton says that he thrives on “confrontation”, saying that Alberto Del Rio thinks his victory on RAW is “tainted”, but Orton says “too bad” to what Del Rio thinks. Orton continues that he should be the next challenger for the World Heavyweight Title before inviting anyone that disagrees with him to come to the ring and confront him. The first man to take Orton up on his offer is none other than the World Heavyweight Champion himself, Sheamus, who says that he is not out there to disagree with “The Viper” before saying that Del Rio has had several title shots. Sheamus continues that he defeated Del Rio “fair and square” at SummerSlam and Orton defeated Del Rio fair and square on RAW. Sheamus then says that, not only does he think Orton deserves to be the next challenger, he wants Orton to be the next challenger.

This brings out SmackDown General Manager Booker T, who says that Randy Orton’s credentials ensure that Orton will always be in the running for the World Heavyweight Title, but the controversial victory on RAW has to be addressed. Before the GM can continue, he is interrupted by Alberto Del Rio and his personal ring announcer, Ricardo Rodriguez, as Del Rio says that the World Heavyweight Title belongs to him. Del Rio then tells Booker T that Sheamus is a “cheater” and Orton is an “animal”, asking if they are the kind of people that Booker wants in title contention. Del Rio continues, saying that Sheamus “robbed” him at SummerSlam and, the next night on RAW, Sheamus “cheated again” to help Orton win. Del Rio refuses to let the GM speak, saying that Booker does not know anything and Sheamus stole his car a couple of weeks ago and Sheamus stole the title match at SummerSlam. Del Rio says that he never lost the title match and he filed a “protest”, but he is still waiting for an answer. With Sheamus and Orton trying to calm Del Rio down, an irate Del Rio continues on, saying that there is a “conspiracy”. Del Rio then calls Booker T a “criminal” and a “cheater”, saying that everyone is against him. The GM is then finally able to finish what he was going to say, saying that Orton will always be in line for a title shot, but Del Rio deserves the next title match. Booker then says that Del Rio’s interruption and trash-talking has made him change his mind before the GM announces that, in a rematch from RAW, Alberto Del Rio will go one-on-one with Randy Orton with the winner becoming the new #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title.

With Josh Mathews unable to do his announcing duties due to an attack by Kane at SummerSlam, the Senior Advisor to SmackDown General Manager Booker T, Theodore Long, joins Michael Cole at ringside, revealing that, while he will be joining Cole as a commentator, every match on SmackDown will feature a different guest commentator.

After weeks of games of one-upsmanship, SmackDown would see the culmination of a rivalry as the undefeated “Sin City Cyborg” Ryback went one-on-one with Jinder Mahal. Ryback would dominate Jinder Mahal, hitting the Shell Shocked on Mahal en route to picking up the win.

With the new #1 Contender for the Divas Title, Kaitlyn, joining Michael Cole on commentary, Divas Champion Layla went one-on-one with Alicia Fox in a non-title match. In the end, it was Layla landing a kick to Alicia Fox’s head en route to picking up the win. After the match, Kaitlyn and Layla face-off in the ring, with champion and challenger shaking hands. The assistant to the GM, Eve, then comes out, peculiarly raising the hands of both Divas.

With his rival, Cody Rhodes, a guest on commentary, “The International Sensation” Sin Cara went one-on-one with Heath Slater on SmackDown. With the referee distracted by Heath Slater, Cody Rhodes would impair Sin Cara, twisting the mask of Sin Cara around backwards. This blinds the high-flyer, allowing Heath Slater to hit the Bandstand on Sin Cara en route to picking up the win.

Following a backstage confrontation earlier on in the evening, SmackDown General Manager Booker T would book a non-title match between World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus and “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” Dolph Ziggler, with Vickie Guerrero serving as the guest commentator. During the match, Dolph Ziggler would narrowly escape the Brogue Kick of Sheamus, but Dolph would have Vickie hand him the Money-in-the-Bank briefcase as Ziggler would use the metal briefcase to blast Sheamus in the skull, ending the match on a disqualification. After the match, Dolph would follow it up with a shot to the spine before Ziggler hands the briefcase to the referee, ready to cash it in, but when an angry Sheamus gets to his feet, Dolph snatches the briefcase away from the referee, preventing the cash-in and making a quick retreat!

After losing the United States Title to Antonio Cesaro on the SummerSlam Pre-Show, Santino Marella says that he feels that he let the fans down before trying to get on the same page as his “cobra”. Santino is then interrupted by the new United States Champion, Antonio Cesaro, and his girlfriend, Aksana, as Cesaro says the word, “winner”, in five different languages. Cesaro then says that, unlike Santino, he knows what it is like to be a winner. This causes Santino to leave the ring as Marella briefly gets the better of the United States Champion, but when Santino’s “cobra” gets distracted by Aksana’s presence, Cesaro takes Santino down, delivering a kick to Marella’s face.

With The Prime Time Players guests on commentary, WWE Tag Team Champions R-Truth & Kofi Kingston faced Primo & Epico, with Rosa Mendes in their corner, in a non-title match. In the end, it was R-Truth hitting the Little Jimmy on Primo en route to picking up the win for himself and Kofi Kingston.

Backstage, an interview with WWE Tag Team Champions R-Truth & Kofi Kingston is crashed by The Prime Time Players, who say that they deserve to get a shot at the tag titles, but Jimmy & Jey Uso believe they deserve a shot. Primo & Epico then enter the picture, saying they deserve a shot before Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel makes their argument, as well. This results in an all-out brawl between all five teams that has to be broken up by referees and officials!

Backstage, the Senior Advisor to Booker T, Theodore Long, is at a loss for an answer to the GM’s question of who deserves to be the #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles, but Booker’s new assistant, Eve, comes in with a folder filled with stats on all the tag teams in the WWE and Booker’s complete schedule, impressing the GM.

With World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus a guest on commentary, the main event would see “The Viper” Randy Orton go one-on-one with “The Mexican Aristocrat” Alberto Del Rio, with Ricardo Rodriguez in his corner, with the winner being named the new #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title. In the end, it was Alberto Del Rio picking up a major and surprising victory over Randy Orton, forcing “The Viper” to tap out to the cross armbreaker to pick up the win and become the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title. After the match, Alberto Del Rio shoves Ricardo Rodriguez down, taking Rodriguez’s shoe off and throwing it at the World Heavyweight Champion, which sparks a brawl between champion and challenger, but a brief distraction from Rodriguez allows Del Rio to take advantage, blasting Sheamus in the skull with Rodriguez’s shoe! Del Rio and Rodriguez then exit the ring as Dolph Ziggler rushes to the ring, ready to cash in the Money-in-the-Bank contract, but just as Ziggler is about to hand over the briefcase, Randy Orton strikes out of nowhere with the RKO, leaving “Mr. Money-in-the-Bank” laid out in the middle of the ring!

They had a backstage segment showing Daniel Bryan walking around yelling "NO!"

Daniel Bryan comes out to the ring to call AJ Lee out. Kane arrives out instead. AJ arrives out finally, but Kane knocks Bryan out. The two end up in a brawl with Kane chasing Bryan through the crowd.

For the main event, the police arrive to the ring. Del Rio stops them saying he wants the title shot to happen. Sheamus tries to fight the cops away, but they overpower him. Detailed Results

The show kicks off with the Interim General Manager of SmackDown, Zack Ryder, who welcomes everyone to the first ZackDown in history before leading the Denver crows in the world’s biggest group of fist pumps. “The Long Island Iced Z” is then interrupted by the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title, Alberto Del Rio, who calls Ryder a “clown” before vowing that he will become the new World Heavyweight Champion this Sunday. Ryder says that he brought Del Rio to ZackDown for a reason, because there is a Superstar who wants a piece of Del Rio before the Interim GM reveals Del Rio’s opponent as the man who Del Rio assaulted two weeks ago on RAW, Sin Cara, gets his shot at revenge.

Per the orders of Interim General Manager Zack Ryder, the opening match of ZackDown saw the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Title, Alberto Del Rio, going one-on-one with the latest qualifier for the World Heavyweight Championship Contract Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match, “The International Sensation” Sin Cara. In the end, it was Alberto Del Rio locking in the cross armbreaker on Sin Cara, forcing the high-flyer to tap out.

The #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Titles, The Prime Time Players appeared on ZackDown as Darren Young, with Titus O’Neil & A.W. in his corner, went one-on-one with Primo, with Epico & Rosa Mendes in his corner. In the end, it was the veteran, Primo, catching Darren Young with a small package roll-up to pick up the win, putting a rare blemish on The Prime Time Players’ record.

Four of the eight participants in the World Heavyweight Championship Contract Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match were in tag team action on ZackDown as Intercontinental Champion Christian teams with United States Champion Santino Marella to face “The Show-Off” Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes, with Vickie Guerrero in their corner. In the end, it was Dolph Ziggler hitting the Zig Zag on Santino Marella en route to pinning the United States Champion to pick up the win for himself and Cody Rhodes.

ZackDown also featured a titanic showdown as one of the four competitors in the WWE Championship Contract Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match, “The World’s Largest Athlete” Big Show, went one-on-one with “The Punjabi Giant” The Great Khali. Big Show felled The Great Khali quickly as Show toppled Khali with the W.M.D. en route to picking up an impressive win.

After Curt Hawkins failed to defeat Ryback on last week’s SmackDown, Hawkins’ tag partner, Tyler Reks, would try his hand at victory as Reks went one-on-one with “The Undefeated War Machine” Ryback on ZackDown. Despite Tyler Reks getting a few shots in on Ryback, Ryback was still able to hit Shell Shocked on Reks en route to racking up another dominant victory.

Another participant in the World Heavyweight Championship Contract Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match was in action on ZackDown as Damien Sandow went one-on-one with Justin Gabriel. In the end, it was Damien Sandow hitting the straightjacket neckbreaker on Justin Gabriel en route to picking up the win.

Then it was time for the main event as, two nights before he defends the gold against Alberto Del Rio at Money-in-the-Bank, World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus went one-on-one with one of the four competitors in the WWE Championship Contract Money-in-the-Bank Ladder Match, Chris Jericho, in a non-title match. At the end of an incredibly hard-fought match, it was Sheamus blasting Chris Jericho with the Brogue Kick en route to picking up a huge win. After the match, Sheamus was celebrating his win on the staging area when Alberto Del Rio’s music hits. As the World Heavyweight Champion watches a car pull into the arena, Sheamus is blindsided by Del Rio as Del Rio delivers an enziguiri to the champion before hanging Sheamus off of the stage while holding Sheamus’ arm in the cross armbreaker for several minutes before referees were finally able to break the hold!

SmackDown! Result » July 3 2012 (The Great American Bash Special Live Edition)

Before the opening video, they had a backstage party segment.  Among the party guests were Alicia Fox, Usos, Hornswoggle, Primo, Epico, Rosa Mendes, Kaitlyn, Tamina and Yoshi Tatsu. Teddy Long came in to welcome everyone to Great American Bash, then they showed Eve wearing a big name tag.  He said she's volunteered to clean up afterwords tonight.  Teddy introduced Santino, who went to light up the BBQ grill, but Kane showed up and made the grill fire start up.

They showed footage of Alberto Del Rio destroying Sin Cara on Raw this past Monday.  Del Rio came out to start the show after the commentators hyped up tonight's 20-man battle royal, and a Michael Cole interview with AJ Lee.  Del Rio started calling the fans peasants just like Sheamus.  He asked one fan for his papers, then called a little kid a little alien.  He goes after one guy, asking security to get rid of him.  Sheamus comes out and they start to go at it.  Eventually, Ricardo Rodriguez helps ADR doubleteam Sheamus.  Ricardo pops the hood of ADR's fancy car near the ramp, and Del Rio smashes it onto Sheamus' back several times, to leave him laying on the floor.

Great Khali and Layla defeated Antonio Cesaro and Aksana by pinfall.  Late in this one, Khali started to dominate Cesaro, so he made a tag to Aksana to get out.  Layla tagged in and tackled Aksana down.  The two divas rolled around a bit fighting.  Layla smacks Aksana on the backside before slamming her and getting a near fall.  Cesaro came in to break up the pin, but that brought Khali in to toss him out of the ring.  Layla and Aksana grapple a bit more, before Layla manages to score a winning pin.

Backstage, Cody Rhodes told Teddy Long the board is allowing him to compete in another MITB qualifying match this week.  Teddy said he gets to pick the opponent and it won't be someone who is trying to qualify.

Cody Rhodes defeated Christian by pinfall to qualify for the (World Heavyweight Championship contract) MITB match.  Late in the match, Rhodes undid the corner turnbuckle cover but the ref went over to stop him.  Christian hit a reverse DDT on Rhodes for a near fall.  Moments later, he went for a Spear, but Rhodes caught him with a kick, but then missed on Beautiful Disaster.  Christian went for Killswitch, but Rhodes countered with Cross Rhodes for the win.

The World Championship contract edition of the MITB match now will have Tyson Kidd, Christian, Damien Sandow, Santino Marella, Cody Rhodes, and Lord Tensai.

Backstage, they showed more of the BBQ party.  Zack Ryder went over and told Teddy the party is sick.  Ryder asked to take over DJing the event.  Teddy told him to go ahead.  Heath Slater came over saying nobody wants to hear that and started singing his "one man band" song.  Everyone started throwing stuff at him so he left.  Ryder went over and pressed a button on a laptop and it started playing Brodus Clay's theme song.  Clay showed up with his two dancers, and everyone joined them for a group dance session.

Dolph Ziggler defeated Alex Riley by pinfall to qualify for the MITB match.  Cole incorrectly said if Alex Riley were to win this one he has no experience in MITB.  Riley competed in the 2011 Raw MITB match which Alberto Del Rio won.  In this match, Riley had several near falls.  After one of them, Ziggler rolled onto the apron, with A-Ry going over to grab him from inside the ring.  Dolph dropped him down neck first against the top rope, then slid back in the ring and hit the Zig Zag for the quick win.  Ziggler hs competed in MITB matches in 2010 and 2011.

Michael Cole conducted an interview with WWE diva AJ Lee in the ring.  Cole referred to AJ as anything but balanced lately.  AJ tried to respond, but Cole cut her off and had footage shown from Raw with AJ's interactions involving Bryan and Punk.  At the end of Raw she shoved them both through a table outside the ring during their match.

After the footage, Cole said it appeared AJ wasn't thinking and she switches allegiances on a dime.  Cole said the WWE Board has made a big mistake to make AJ special referee at MITB.  Cole suggested that maybe AJ should pursue a real man, one with power and influence, maybe a former war correspondent turned "voice of the WWE."  As Cole was offering himself up, Daniel Bryan's music hit and he came to the ring holding his left arm.  Bryan called Cole a sexist, emotionally abusive bully.  He said Cole is like the rest of the media, just making up news and putting words in people's mouths.  Bryan continued trying to butter up AJ with his compliments about her as special ref.

Bryan kept going on with the compliments, until Punk's music hit and the WWE champ came to the ring to interject.  Punk kicked Cole out of the ring saying this has nothing to do with him.  Punk said he's not going to be like Bryan and kiss up, but he's going to be blunt.  He told AJ she's not in a good place mentally, and maybe it's partly his fault.  He suggested she get professional help which drew a look of upset on her face.  Punk said he's not going to lie to AJ and toy with her emotions.

Bryan cut in and said Punk is pretending he's concerned, but he only cares that she's the special referee.  Punk went after Bryan but AJ got in between them.  She looked at Bryan, then planted a big kiss on h im in front of Punk.  Punk left the ring looking confused, but then AJ jumped out of the ring, spun him around b the arm, and planted a big kiss on him.  After she finished, she skipped up the ramp as her music played and both Bryan/Punk were shocked.

US Champion Santino came to the ring and then introduced his two tag team partners - Sgt. Slaughter and Hacksaw Jim Duggan, who each arrived out seperately.  Their opponents - Drew McIntyre, Hunico and Camacho.

Santino Marella, Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Sgt. Slaughter defeated Hunico, Camacho, and Drew McIntyre by pinfall in a six-man tag team match.  Late in the match, there was a pinfall broken up by the heels, with all wrestlers getting involved in the ring.  Sarge took out Drew and Camacho.  Hunico who thought he had control on Hacksaw, ran into an elbow in the corner.  Duggan made the tag to Santino who pulled out his Cobra sock and hit the punch move for the win.

They had a backstage segment with Damien Sandow showing up to pull the plug on the party music, causing an uproar by all the divas and superstars there.  Ryder got in his face and called him bro, with Sandow saying he's not his brother in any way.  Ryder suggested Sandow should just leave.  Sandow looked like he was about to, but then punched Ryder and the two started to fight.  Ryder gained the upperhand, knocking Sandow to the ground.  Ryder then picked up a bowl of punch and tried to throw it on Sandow, who ducked, so Eve was the recipient of all the punch.  Teddy Long laughed about it and said "This is my kinda party" as Eve stormed off.

Ryback defeated Curt Hawkins via pinfall.  Reks and Hawkins were in the ring.  Reks said they had a coin flip about which of them could beat Ryback and Hawkins won it.  Matthews said Ryback's undefeated in WWE (as Ryback, not Skip Sheffield).  As usual, Ryback dominated from the start.  At one point, Hawkins avoided Ryback in the corner, but was caught by a huge clothesline and then his feat of strength backdrop finisher.  Matthews said Ryback chants "Feed me more" after he wins because in WWE it's "eat or be eaten."

The commentators reviewed what happened earlier between Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio at the top of the stage near ADR's fancy car.

The commentators hyped up a Great American Bash 20-Man Battle Royal featuring Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Jack Swagger, Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Lord Tensai, Brodus Clay, Dolph Ziggler, Damien Sandow, Kofi Kingston, Great Khali, Kane, Christian, Alberto Del Rio, CM Punk, John Cena, Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, Santino Marella and Big Show.  The winner gets to be General Manager for Smackdown next week.

Late in this one, it was down to about 10 or less guys.  Tensai, Ziggler and Del Rio triple-teamed Cena in the corner, but he battled back and dropped them all, getting the crowd excited.  Cena managed to toss Del Rio out then did the AA on Kane.  Tensai kicked Cena and tried to toss him out, but Cena powered his way out and backflipped Tensai.  However, Big Show walked up behind Cena and dumped him out of the ring.  Ryder tried to take down Show but got speared.  Christian jumped off the corner at him, but got caught by Show and dropped out of the ring.  Show then looked at his handiwork near the ropes, and Ziggler jumped on his back with a sleeper hold.  Kane went over and shoved Show over the top rope, eliminating both guys.

It came down to Kane vs. Ryder, with the Big Red Monster dominating as he stomped on Zack in the corner.  He got Zack on his shoulder but Ryder slid off.  However, Kane hit a big boot to drop him again.  Moments later, Ryder executed a drop toe hold and sent Kane into the corner, then hit a Broski Boot.  He set up for Rough Ryder, but Kane caught him for a chokeslam.  Ryder slipped out of it and went towards the ropes.  Kane rushed at him, but Ryder dropped down, holding the rope down for Kane to fall out.  Zack Ryder won the 20-man Great American Bash Battle Royal, and now gets to be the GM for Smackdown next week.

SmackDown results: The Great White and Big Red Monster triumphed, as AJ “hammered” the competition

The gigantic Superstar was soon engaged by Brodus Clay. Although The Funkasaurus held his own against the nearly impenetrable giant, a sudden sneak attack from behind by David Otunga allowed Big Show to gain a decisive advantage – before finishing off the target of his rage with the WMD.

As the smoke cleared, Otunga added insult to injury, dancing and posing over Brodus to the big man’s own music.

Vickie Guerrero to be the Interim General Manager of Raw and SmackDown next week (WATCH)
WWE’s resident Cougar revealed to Mick Foley that she would be taking the temporary reins of both Raw and SmackDown next week, warning him that she might look to make him her assistant if he didn’t behave. However, the amused Hardcore Legend had a much “bigger” suggestion about who should be Guerrero’s assistant, The Great Khali.

As a result of missing his World Heavyweight Title opportunity at No Way Out due to a concussion – and with John Laurinaitis getting fired at the same event – Alberto Del Rio returned to SmackDown looking to once again work his way back to the top. That quest would set him on a collision course with Christian.

In the height of the fast-paced battle that followed, a distraction by Ricardo Rodriguez allowed Del Rio to catch Captain Charisma on the top rope with a fierce kick, setting up the Cross Armbreaker and a huge victory for The Mexican Aristocrat.

Moments after the bell, Cody Rhodes – who Christian successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship against in their explosive pay-per-view rematch five days earlier – attacked his war torn adversary from behind. In an absolute frenzy, Rhodes hurled the titleholder into the steel ring post, dropping him to the canvas before accusing his foe of “stealing [his] time” and that he himself “was SmackDown.”

For months, AJ has been involved in an out-of-control rollercoaster ride with CM Punk, Kane and Daniel Bryan. (WATCH)

This week on SmackDown, the off-the-wall Diva would serve as a surprise special guest timekeeper as Kane took on Bryan. In the height of the action that followed – after the submission specialist cinched in the “Yes!” Lock on The Big Red Monster – AJ suddenly rang the bell. This caused Bryan to release the hold, thinking his monstrous opponent tapped out.

But much to Bryan’s chagrin, the referee explained that the masked menace hadn’t, in fact, given in and that the match was still going. Before WWE’s “Yes!” man could get his bearings, The Devil’s Favorite Demon roared back, hitting the chokeslam for the three count.

And just as quickly as the match ended, a guiltless AJ skipped away again like nothing out of the ordinary had happened at all.

(WATCH | PHOTOS)
An irate Health Slater decided to interrupt Mick Foley in the ring, lodging a protest after getting slammed over the head by Cyndi Lauper on Monday’s Raw SuperShow. Demanding the GM do something about it, The Hardcore Legend took immediate action by introducing The One Man Southern Rock Band to his opponent, Zack Ryder.

With Foley watching at ringside, Long Island Iced-Z soundly defeated Slater with the Rough Ryder leg drop.

Later in the back, the self-professed “Intellectual Savior of the Unwashed Masses” Damien Sandow looked to enlighten Foley and Ryder. (WATCH)

(WATCH | PHOTOS)
Continuing to make big moves in a big way, A.W. returned to SmackDown to lead his new tag team – The Prime Time Players – to the ring. This occurred just five days after he turned on Primo & Epico at No Way Out in favor of his new acquisition.

In O’Neil & Young’s high-octane match with The Usos, the head of All World Promotions would cause a crucial distraction by jumping on the apron and admonishing the referee. This allowed Darren Young to drop Jimmy Uso onto the top rope, setting up his “Real Deal” partner to hurl his foe to the canvas for the pin.
